The journey to literacy starts with comics and ends with heavy books. But what about creating a middle step? Together with writer/author John Ajvide Lindqvist (Let the right one in), we took a beloved comic book story and turned into a dark novella. A story that was originally told with images and words in bubbles, was now a longform text. Not only did Swedish media think this was a highly interesting development, but teachers and schools started to use the novella in their classes as learning tool for reading.
